I woke up this morning thinking of the strangest thing.
The letter "g" makes the hard "g" sound when followed by an a, o, or u....hard "g" meaning the begining sound in goat or gun.
When followed by an e, i, or y it makes the soft "g" sound, such as the sound at the beginning of gym or general.
But what about gift and get? Why are they so special that they do not have to follow the rules?
Yes, I woke up this morning contemplating that very thing. Why? I have no idea. I think I spend too much time on phonics while schooling the girls.

Tomorrow morning, at 9 AM EST, I have my gallbladder surgery. I've never had surgery of any kind and have never been put under general anesthesia, so I'm a little nervous. Over all, I feel a peace about it though. I've prayed and I've had people praying for me, so I'm sure that played the main part in the peace that I feel. If you are so inclined, could you please say a prayer for me tomorrow morning at 9 AM? And pray for the doctors too....that they will have steady hands LOL.
It's an outpatient surgery and the nurse that I chatted with yesterday told me that I should be able to go home by 1 or 2 PM. I'll try to update tomorrow night. One of my concerns is taking pain medication while nursing Thumper. Everything I've read says it is okay and to just watch for sedation in an infant, but it still gives me pause. I hope to be able to get by on Motrin only, but we will see.
If you like to pray specifically, you can pick and choose from my following list of concerns LOL....
being put under anesthesia
my head cold that I have, mixed with being put under
nausea after waking up from the anesthesia
pain from the incisions
pain from the gas they inflate your abdomen with
my taking pain meds and nursing Thumper...Motrin preferred
eating normally after the surgery
feeling well enough to keep the plans for our upcoming Disney trip
Yeah, I don't worry and overanalyze things at all. :o)
Happy Wednesday night everyone!
