Most of the time I manage to keep our weekends free from becoming jam packed with activities, but this weekend was an exception to that rule.
We had something to do every single day!
On Friday night, Mr. Incredible and I finally got to have our date night. For Christmas, I gave him a book of dates. At the first of each month, he gets to open a package within a folder to reveal what we will be doing for that month's date.
Friday's date was actually January's date. Since January was a little chaotic, we had to move it to early February. And so while my parents watched 2/3 's of the kids, Mr. Incredible and I had the evening to ourselves (sort of). I prepared a meal while he was at work, which we ate when he got home. We also watched the movie Real Steel, which he's been highly anticipating. I wasn't gung-ho about the movie, but I knew he really wanted to see it. Turns out, it was really good! The evening passed quickly and we had a great time! Before we knew it, the kids were home, we were on bedtime duty, and I was busily preparing lunches for the coming day.
Saturday morning broke bright and early as we rounded up the kids and headed out to walk some nature trails at a park across town. We brought a picnic lunch and enjoyed the beauty of nature. We learned the value quite a few things yesterday.
We valued seeing God's creations first hand.....
We valued time with Daddy.....
We valued time together......
We valued a friendly game of freeze tag.....
We valued chubby baby cheeks.....
We valued learning opportunities....
And we valued the freedom of running through the woods.
After our morning at the park, we headed over to spend the afternoon with the cousins. The girls had a blast. They love hanging out with their cousins.
This morning was another early morning for church. Then we hit Sonny's for lunch, Wal-Mart and Publix for some groceries, and had the afternoon to clean and save the house from the disasterous shape that it was in from our come-and-go weekend. Early evening brought family over for a Super Bowl supper.
It's finally evening, the kids are in bed, I'm blogging, and my husband is watching the very last quarter of the Big Game. This coming week hails another very busy time so I'd better sign off for the night. The day's very last load of laundry is calling my name from the dryer.
